I won't be that optimistic. There is no incentive, motivation and desire to change the existing political system in China by the Communist party. If the economic reform can pacify the natives to keep them from major armed revolution, the CCP will not change the current system for real. Preservation of the hold on power by the CCP will be the main goal of the CCP. Any change that will threat weakening this hold on power will be resisted, with full force of the PLA. 先经济后政治 ?
